MC698876: Teams Live Events support in New Teams |
More Information |
---|
As communicated in MC686187, after March 31, 2024, any classic Teams users that haven't updated to new Teams, will be automatically updated to new Teams. New Teams will support Teams Live Events until its scheduled retirement on September 30th, 2024. Customers using Teams Live Events within new Teams should not expect any changes to the Attendee & Presenter experiences within new Teams. Teams Live Events Producers and Organizers, which currently cannot use new Teams, will have their capabilities brought to new Teams. When this will happen:Users will notice the change to the organizer experience as soon as the middle of January 2024. The Producer experience will be brought to new Teams by late March, 2024. After which, Teams Live Events will be fully supported in new Teams until the retirement of the Teams Live Events experience on September 30th, 2024. How this will affect your organization:Attendee, presenter, and producer roles will be fully supported within the new Teams desktop and web clients by late March 2024. The Organizer experience will have users start in new Teams and then have a web pop out to either finish the Teams Live Events creation or update the Live Event. What you need to do to prepare:Organizers, producers, presenters and attendee who are expecting to take part in Teams Live Events after March should be aware that these experiences will all be available in new Teams before late March. In addition, Teams Live Events users are highly encouraged to begin looking into the new town hall feature, as town hall is the replacement for Teams Live Events and is fully supported in new Teams. |
