MC698896: Teams Live Event capacity limit extension |
More Information |
---|
Microsoft had previously instituted temporary capacity increases for Teams live events that were set to expire on December 31, 2023. This included increasing the Live Event capacity from 10,000 attendees to up to 20,000 attendees, increasing the concurrency limit from 15 to 50 simultaneous events, and increasing the Live Event duration from 4 hours to 16 hours. To ensure administrators have adequate time to train their user base, we are extending the timeline for these capacity limit increases for Teams Live Events to now expire on June 30, 2024. When this will happen:.Until June 30, 2024, you will be able to run Teams Live Events of up to 20,000 attendees, have up to 50 of these Live Events run simultaneously, and have your Live Events run for up to 16 hours. How this will affect your organization:Your organization can continue to utilize Teams Live Events with a broadcast experience for up to 20,000 attendees (previously up from 10,000 attendees); 50 events hosted simultaneously across a tenant (previously up from 15 events); and an event duration of 16 hours per broadcast (previously up from 4 hours). What you need to do to prepare:There is nothing you need to do to receive this extension: it will automatically be applied to all Live Events until June 30, 2024. In addition, Teams Live Events users are highly encouraged to begin looking into the new town hall feature, as town hall is the replacement for Teams Live Events. If you wish to run events of up to 20,000 attendees and run more than 15 concurrent events after June 30, 2024, you will need to use the new town hall experience and purchase relevant Teams Premium licenses for the additional capacity. |
