In the quest to deliver low-friction deployment and proactive management for Microsoft Teams Rooms, we are rolling out a new feature: the Microsoft Teams Rooms for Windows app will automatically check for and install new application updates and Windows updates during the initial setup, ensuring devices are protected and up to date on day one. When this will happen:General availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out late April 2024 (previously mid-April) and expect to complete by mid-May 2024 (previously late April). How this will affect your organization:New Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows devices running app version 4.20 and later will automatically update to the latest app version upon unboxing and deployment. Please talk to your device manufacturer about the availability of such devices. Currently deployed devices are not affected. What you need to do to prepare:No action is needed from you to prepare for this rollout. You may want to notify your admins about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate. |
