| Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android devices with 4K HDMI input capability will soon be able to consume local HDMI content in 4K ultra high definition. The feature will be available with the Teams Rooms on Android 2.2 release for all Teams Rooms licenses. Coming soon: Users will soon see local HDMI content in 4K quality on Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android devices that support 4K HDMI input. This feature will be available with the Teams Rooms on Android 2.2 release for all Teams Rooms licenses. When this will happen:General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High): We will begin rolling out late April 2024 (previously mid-April) and expect to complete by late June 2024 (previously late May). Note that there can be a delay between when features are released by Microsoft and when they become available on a device model and make. Contact your device manufacturer to confirm the feature availability timeline for your device model.How this will affect your organization:If your organization has Teams Rooms on Android devices with 4K HDMI input capability, users will be able to consume local HDMI content in 4K ultra high definition in those devices when they project content to the front-of-room display outside of an online Teams meeting. With a sharper and more detailed viewing experience, this feature brings visual clarity to the forefront. What you need to do to prepare:This rollout will happen automatically by the specified date with no admin action required prior to the rollout. After the rollout, plan to update all Teams Rooms on Android devices in your tenant to the latest version in the Teams admin center. After your devices are updated, you can notify your users about this change and update your training and documentation as appropriate. |
